William Dayton Obituary

William Edward Dayton Grand Haven Mr. William E. Dayton, age 88, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010. He was born in Rochester, NY on October 24, 1921 to Michael and (Mabel) Dayton and served his country in the US Army during WWII. He married the former Lillian DeHeer on February 17, 1961. Mr. Dayton had been a landscaper for many area golf courses. He was a loving man who loved the outdoors and helping neighbors. Survived by sons, William (Sharon) Dayton of FL, Michael (Joyce) Dayton of Coldwater, Steven (Cheryl) Dayton of FL; daughter, DeAnne (Van) Akers of VA; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Vonda Morley of Battle Creek; brother, Joe Dayton of Battle Creek; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, JoHanna Milewski. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian and 18 siblings. Service Friday, October 15, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at the Clock Chapel-Grand Haven with Pastor Jerald Poehl officiating. Interment at Grand Haven Township Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Grand Haven. Memorials to Hospice of North Ottawa.
