Donald Reed Obituary

Donald Owen Reed, 75

Donald Owen Reed, 75, of Gainesville, MO passed to heaven on August 20, 2011 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, AR. He was born April 4, 1936 in Mt. Ararat, MO to Owen and Mae (Loring) Reed.

On May 25, 1957 Don was united in marriage to Josephine Hill in West Plains, MO. To this union three children were born. Don worked for 19 years as a printer for the Ozark County Times in Gainesville, MO. He then bought Twin Lakes Printing in Mountain Home, AR in 1978 and ran it for the next 33 years. He and his family closed the doors in July of this year. Don was a Christian and was baptized at an early age. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Mae Reed and one brother Jearl Loring. He is survived by his wife Josephine Reed, Gainesville, MO; two daughters Donna Jo Reed of Mountain Home, AR and Mary Haley and her husband Keith of Viola, AR; one son Landon Reed of Ava, MO; four grandchildren Carly Marx, Cassy Andersen, Dalton Haley and Amy Suter; five great grandchildren; two sisters Joy Rieger of West Plains, MO and Mary Lou Hambelton of Dora, MO; one brother John Reed of West Plains, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Don will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in at the Ball Church of Christ, Dora, MO with Jimmy Kyle officiating. Burial will be in the Ball Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House; 701 Burnett Drive; Mtn. Home, AR 72653. On line condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
