Dennis Bourque

Dennis Bourque, 87, of Cheek, died October 31, 2011, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. Born May 7, 1924, in Port Arthur, he was the son of John Bourque and Oleta Bouillion Bourque. Dennis was a United States Army Air Corps veteran and retired from Ameripol Synpol. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to Cajun music, and dancing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Viola Bourque of Cheek; sons, Bobby Bourque and his wife, Leni of Nederland, and Gerald Bourque and his wife, Marilyn of The Woodlands; sister, Gloria Dean Hinds of Port Neches; brother, Glenn E. Bourque of New York, New York; grandchildren, Tangee Griffin and her husband, Jim, Amy Jackson and her husband, James Dean, Morgan Bourque and his wife, Heather and Tanner Lynn Bourque; great grandchildren, Olivia Hornsby, Kate Jackson and Jett Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Anna Mae Simon and Adley Weems; and brother, Revis Bourque. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3324 Park Drive, Nederland, followed by burial at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland, under the direction of Broussard's, 505 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday evening, November 4, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard's.
