What a grand lady! Leon not only knew what loyalty and commitment meant, she lived the standard. Republicans today could learn much from Jefferson County's quintessential pioneer & matriarchal forerunner, dear Leon. Her shoes cannot be filled, but her footprints guide succeeding generations.

Mrs.Richardson was a wonderful leader. We met in spaces the size of telephone booths. There were not many of us in Jefferson County, but we were true Republicans.A great lady and Chairman.

I was active with the Lamar College Republicans when "Republican wasn't cool" and I first came to know Leon. She brought loyalty and energy to any project she took on. Rest in peace.

Leon was a lady ahead of her time, and a grand lady she was. She was Republican when "Republican Wasn't Cool" yet. She was always delightful to be around, always friendly, and always frank in what she had to say. I'm proud to have known her.
