What a grand lady! Leon not only knew what loyalty and commitment meant, she lived the standard. Republicans today could learn much from Jefferson County's quintessential pioneer & matriarchal forerunner, dear Leon. Her shoes cannot be filled, but her footprints guide succeeding generations.

Charles, Jay, Rose, Joe, Lora and all your families. Just found out about your mother. I'm so sorry for your loss. When I read of her passing I was shocked, I guess I thought she would go on forever, she was just that amazing. She was a great lady and a great mother-in-law. I will miss her even more now.

I was active with the Lamar College Republicans when "Republican wasn't cool" and I first came to know Leon. She brought loyalty and energy to any project she took on. Rest in peace.

Leon was a lady ahead of her time, and a grand lady she was. She was Republican when "Republican Wasn't Cool" yet. She was always delightful to be around, always friendly, and always frank in what she had to say. I'm proud to have known her.
