Dorothy Garrett Obituary

Dorothy Lee Garrett, 77, of Beaumont, TX, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Pleasant Green Baptist Church, with entombment at Live Oak Memorial Park Mausoleum, under the direction of Calvary Mortuary Staff. Her love and memories will remain in the hearts of her husband of 52 years, Willis J. Garrett; son, Byron K. Garrett; sisters, Jeweline Mitchell and Alberta Ozen; family members, loved ones, and friends.

Willis and Byron you have our heartfelt sympathy. We were roommates at TSU (Gwen and Porchia Anita Stevens}. Dorothy was such a kind, sweet and lovable person. I know she is at peace now. I love you guys. She visited us in Los Angeles and San Antonio. May God continue to bless and keep you in His care.

Gone but not forgotten, she made a tremendous impact on so many lives, she was a remarkable teacher, roll model, mother figure to so many of her students. She was one of my favorite teachers.
