George J. Brockhoeft

1936 - 2016 A celebration of George J. Brock Brockhoeft's life, age 80, of Rayburn Country, will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 13, 2016 at Lake Rayburn United Methodist Church in Rayburn Country. Brock, died June 8, 2016 at his home in Rayburn Country. A native of Broaddus, TX and former longtime Nederland and Port Neches resident he had lived the past 16 years in Rayburn Country. A 1954 graduate of Broaddus High School, he served with the U. S. Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Airman First Class. He retired as a supervisor with Texaco Chemical in Port Neches, and upon retiring moved to Rayburn Country to enjoy fishing, hunting, and golfing. Brock is survived by the love of his life wife of 58 years Barbara Haddox Brockhoeft of Rayburn Country; sons Bruce Brockhoeft and wife Alene of Arlington, TX, Scott Brockhoeft of Nederland, TX, and David Brockhoeft and wife Dena of Carrol Valley, PA; nine grandchildren Shaun Carlisle, Jamie Carlisle, Shannon Crenshaw, Victoria Brockhoeft, Lexi Temple, Wes Temple, Peyton Brockhoeft, Savanah Brockhoeft, Dakota Brockhoeft and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers John T. Choate, Sr., Larry A. Choate & sisters Marilyn Nerren & Susan Wilde. Brock was preceded in death by parents John and Nina Smith Choate; brothers William G Choate, Sr. and Joe Choate; in-laws, Searcy and Ruth Haddox of Abilene, TX. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
