Lora Blair

Lora M. Blair, 93, of Columbia, Ill., born Nov. 10, 1922, in Clay County, Ill., passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Four Fountains Care Center, Belleville, Ill.

Lora was a member of The First Baptist Church, Columbia, Ill., Order of the Eastern Star 98 - Rob Morris Chapter Fairview Heights, Ill. (past Worthy Matron), and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem (past Matron).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Blair, whom she married September 21, 1940, in Louisville, Ill., and who passed away April 9, 1996; her parents, Roy H. and Beatrice I., nee Fancher, Rodgers; brothers, Lindell, Youthel, Allen, John, and James Rodgers; and a sister, Leone Eaton.

Surviving are her children, Sandra Bailey of Columbia, Ill., Roger (Susan) Blair of Pendelton, Ore., Claudia (Francis) Asselmeier of Columbia, Ill., Kimberly (Charles) Deffenbaugh of Columbia, Ill., and Mark (Sharon) Blair of Columbia, Ill.; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Mitchell of Bellingham, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Martha Blair of Salem, Ill.; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, Ill., with Pastor Jonathan Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Ill.
