Doris Engel

Doris M. Engel, nee Husman, 77, of Troy, Ill., born Dec. 28, 1933 in East St. Louis, Ill., died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at her residence.

Mrs. Engel was preceded in death by her parents, Louis W. and Hazel, nee Hammon, Husman; and a sister, Dorothy Barnett.

Surviving are her husband of more than 58 years, John E. "Corky" Engel; two sons, Rick (Kathy) Engel of Troy, Ill., and John (Diana) Engel of

Maryville, Ill.; four grandchildren, Chris Bellm, Jamie Engel, John Engel, and Jessie Engel; her dearest friends, Mary Ann Grove and Mary Carbone; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials are appreciated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the American Lung Association. Condolences may be expressed at www.lakeviewfuneralhm.com.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Friends may also call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, Ill., with Father Pat Jakel officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
