Krista McCartney Obituary
Krista Leann McCartney, 24, of Collinsville, Ill., passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Krista had graduated from Collinsville High School in 2005. She was president of the high school year book her senior year and was a member of the National Association of Student Council. She also attended Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo. Krista had worked for J.C. Penny's in Fairview Heights, Ill., Springfield, Mo., Killeen, Texas and Overland Park, Mo. She also had worked for Kohls in Collinsville, Ill. She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping and going to Starbucks with her friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her two nieces who she adored. Krista will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Hiram and Anna Mae McCartney; and maternal grandparents, Herman and Sylvia Clanney.
Surviving are her parents, Mike and Mary, nee Clanney, McCartney of Collinsville, Ill.; three sisters, Angela McCartney of Collinsville, Ill., Jessica (AJ) Englerth of Killeen, Texas and Michelle (Johnathan) Kahn of Valley Park, Mo.; two, nieces, Zoe and Taylor; grandmother, LaVerne Clanney of Hazelwood, Mo.; three best friends, Rachel, Emily and Erin; and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill., and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Edgemont Bible Church, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Edgemont Bible Church, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Pastor Doug White officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.

I don't understand why God gave her such a short life it's not right. With all do respect; if he loves us then why did he do this? This is the question I asked God and I'm still waiting on an answer from him.
Although I only knew her a short time;I had and have love for her. Krista may you enjoy heaven and save us a spot. YOU WILL BE FOREVER MISS :(

I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Krista personally but have heard her name often here at school and we have all been praying for her and the rest of the family. I am continuing to pray for you all as I know Krista will be greatly missed.

Krista was a special person. I enjoyed having her in my Latin class for 4 yrs. She was such a good student and so considerate of others. She truly was God's angel on earth. My prayers go out to her entire family.

Krista was a wonderful young woman with a servant's heart. She was willing to help, even though she was going through so much. Krista was truly a special person who was concerned for those around her and convinced of goodness of God. She expressed to us in the Registrar Office at Calvary Bible College how much she loved her family and her Lord. She knew that her Lord was in control and she was confident in Him.
