Floyd Schuetz

Floyd P. Schuetz, 71, of New Memphis, Ill., born February 2, 1940, in Johannisburg Twp., Okawville, Ill., died Friday, October 14, 2011, at Countryside Manor in Aviston, Ill.

Mr. Schuetz was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Laborers Local 742 in Mascoutah. He enjoyed hunting, shooting pool, mushroom hunting, gathering and processing pecans and attending area sports events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Thekla, nee Blanken, Schuetz, Sr.; two sisters, Mary Ann Lehde and Doris Mae Waltrip; three brothers, Earl Schuetz, Gilbert Schuetz, Jr. and Donald L. Schuetz; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Schuetz.

Surviving are his children, Michelle Schuetz of Mascoutah, Ill., Craig (Monica) Schuetz of Aviston, Ill., Kerry (Ron) Foppe of Breese, Ill., and Brad (Eileen) Schuetz of Travis AFB, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Shannon Schuetz, Colin Schuetz, Blake Foppe, Carmen Foppe, Justin Foppe, Aubrey Schuetz, and Elijah Schuetz; a brother, Kenneth (Irene) Schuetz of Breese; three sisters, Janet (Delmar) Wulf of Addiville, Ill., Diane (Bob) Terveer of Freeburg, Ill., and Carol (Bob) Rolves of Albers, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Leroy Lehde of Nashville, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Barb Schuetz of Sullivan, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, Ill., with Deacon Charles Litteken officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden, Ill.
