Frances Crews

Frances L. Crews, 72, of Collinsville, Ill., formerly of Granite City, Ill., born June 25, 1939, in Granite City, Ill., passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Mrs. Crews enjoyed her days with the Red Hat Ladies and was a talented artist and enjoyed working with crafts. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Ann, nee Hayes, Kuenkler; and a son, Jeffery Webb.

Surviving are her husband, James E. Crews, whom she married on March 20, 1964 in Granite City, Ill.; three children, Christine (Robert) Blevins of Edwardsville, Ill., Edward (Dorothy) Crews of Granite City, Ill., and James E. (Elizabeth) Crews Jr., of Holliston, Mass.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice (Jerry) Malone of Edwardsville, Ill., and Carol (Robert) Soehnlin of Glen Carbon, Ill.; one brother, William (Margaret) Kuenkler of Granite City, Ill.; other extended family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and may be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, Ill.

Funeral: Services in celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the funeral home with Steve Arisman officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
