Dorothy Ruswick Obituary

Dorothy Betty Ruswick, age 81, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 in Bellingham. A lifelong Whatcom County resident, Dorothy was born September 4, 1929 in Lynden to Adrian and Bessie (Brunger) Nouwens. Her love for the outdoors was evident as she worked many years as a groundskeeper; enjoyed gardening and river fishing. In her younger years, she attended First Christian Reformed Church in Lynden. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mom, grandmother and friend to many. Her family is thankful for loving care given Dorothy by all the staff at Alderwood Care Center and also for special friend and caregiver Barb Hoy. Preceded in death by infant son, Doug Nott and granddaughter Christina Lindsay; Dorothy is survived by daughters Pam Frazier and Kathy (John) Olson; son Virgil Nott; four grandchildren Greg (Heidi) Lindsay, Connie Lindsay and Tami Olson; four great-grandchildren Brittany and Colton Lindsay, Cody Lindsay and Anthony Olson; and siblings Bernice Yarborough, Gladys (Will) Hendricks and Gerald (Marlene) Nouwens. Dorothy will be interred next to her parents in Monumenta Cemetery.
