Jack Welch Obituary

Life-time county resident Jack A. Welch, age 82 of Ferndale, was taken to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 5. He was born in Bellingham on August 9, 1928 and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1947. He married Twila Olson on February 8, 1948 and was employed at the Texaco Refinery in Anacortes for twenty-six years, retiring in 1983. Jack's priority was spending time with his family and he attended Northside Community Church. He also enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing. Preceded in death by his mother Muriel Calhoun and step-father Walter, Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Twila; children Bob (Marilyn) Welch of Mt. Vernon, Patti (Ray) Johnson of Ferndale, Dick (Marilyn) Welch of Kendall and John (Diane) Welch of Blaine; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; step-brother Dale Calhoun in Montana and other relatives. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, June 11, at 11:30 a.m. at Northside Community Church, intersection of Hannegan and Kline Roads. Private family burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Memorials in Jack's name may be made to the Northside Community Church, 950 Kline Rd., Bellingham, WA 98226.
