Ronald Radder Obituary

Ronald "Bud" E. Radder, of Everson, went home to his Lord on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the age of 76. He was born in Lynden, WA on February 4, 1934 to Cornelius and Sadie (Heeringa) Radder and was a lifelong Whatcom County resident. He married Shirley Nieuwendorp in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho on Sept. 26, 1955. Bud served his country for two years in the USMC as a heavy duty truck driver from January 1954 to January 1956. A dairy farmer for many years, Bud later discovered his gifts and interest in mechanics and began a career as a mechanic working for Bellingham Cold Storage, Shuksan Frozen Foods and Korvan Industries. A favorite activity was taking road trips with Shirley throughout the U.S. and his outdoor hobby was hunting. Bud attended Nooksack Valley Reformed Church. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel; brothers, Elmer, Donald and Lawrence; Bud is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 55 years; children, Debbie (Larry) Visser, David Radder and Delvin (Marilyn) Radder; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister Betty Engler; brother, Bob Radder; sister-in-law Lavawn Radder; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be Friday, January 14, 4 to 7 pm at Gillies Funeral Home. A memorial service is scheduled Saturday, January 15, 1:00 pm at Nooksack Valley Reformed Church on Breckenridge Road in Nooksack. Private family burial will be in Monumenta Cemetery.
