Dallene Evelyn McSorley

Dallene Evelyn McSorley (Hull), age 87, passed away January 14, 2011, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, after a two-year struggle with cancer. Born in Laramie, Wyoming, June 26, 1923, to Dall and Evelyn Hull, she moved to Whatcom County, Washington, in 1929. She was a graduate of Ferndale High School in 1941 where she worked as a librarian, then as a clerk at the Ferndale U.S. Post Office. She married Eugene McSorley November 29, 1941, who has preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Jeff and Susan McSorley, Lynden, Washington, Sandi and Bob Stewart, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Ron and Joeen McSorley, Ferndale, Washington. Dallene also worked at the Pioneer Ridge Rest Home, at Clary Jensen's Floral Shop, for Dr. R.V. Tucker as his gold lab technician, and finally for Whatcom Dental Lab, where she retired. She was a member of the United Methodist Church for several years where she sang in the choir and then became a Seventh-Day Adventist in 1974 where she served as a Community Service Leader for many years, sharing the love of Jesus and the Gospel to many. She is also survived by three sisters, Helen Hansen, Snohomish, Washington, Hazel Lintz, Bellingham, Washington, and Bonnie Cratsenberg, Bellingham, Washington; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Services will be held at the Ferndale Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2488 Mountain View Road, Ferndale, Washington, on Sunday, January 30, 2011, at 2:00 PM.
