Caleb "Flip" Kors

Caleb Kors Obituary

Passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Seattle, WA after an injuryat his Bellingham Home.
Caleb under his stage name "Flip," performed acrobatics and juggling tricks with the Bellingham Circus Guild. He was known as a budding street and circus performer who often performed at the Bellingham Farmers Market. Caleb, a fifth-grader at Geneva Elementary School, was practicing a new trick he was learning when an accident occurred. He is remembered as a vibrant, intelligent and highly creative boy. Since the day he was born, his mother said, Caleb had been surprising the family with how quickly he learned things, like walking, climbing and riding a bike. Even the way he talked and the things he said seemed beyond his years. "He would always have our jaws on the ground with all the amazing things he could do." Amazing things like juggling, acrobatics, and magic tricks. At just 10-years-old, Caleb was already an active member with the Bellingham Circus Guild, an aspiring performer, and an innovative magician, who came up with his own tricks and designed and created his own costumes. He is survived by his parents, Odin and Melanie Kors, brothers Michael and Josiah and grandparents Oma & Opa. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Christ the King Church, 4173 Meridian St., Bellingham.

My daughter who plays percussion with Whatcom Symphony played in a concert at Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship tonight. It was a concert to honour some of
the people who have died tragically. Caleb is one of the ones that was honoured tonight. I had never heard of this young talented boy until tonight and my prayers go out to his family and friends that they have found peace. The choir and symphony members did a wonderful job of helping to remember Caleb.

My grandson, Riley Salisbury, misses Caleb. He was his friend. Riley said Caleb taught him to do front and back flips and the front hand spring. He and Caleb shared their physical skills on the playground at Geneva. Today is Caleb's birthday. Happy 11th birthday, Caleb. Riley will see you in heaven!

Some days are harder than others. Our family has such an empty void in our soul and our hearts. We miss you so much Cabers we love you so much.

When a child dies, It is particularly hard for the mother. Thus the Bible acknowledges the bitter grief that a mother can feel. (2 Kings 4:27) Of course, it is difficult for the bereaved father as well. "O that I might have died, I myself, instead of you," lamented King David when his son Absalom died. (2 Samuel 18:33)

When Children Must Leave

The smart, the bright.
The lovely, the fair.
We have and hold
And love them so dear.
And then we lose them.

But when their purpose
Is ended here,
They're borne by the angels;
No need to fear.

They return to God
As an angel themselves.
It reminds me of Santa's
Lil good-natured elves.

Always, it's tough when kids leave;
The heart simply pines and grieves.
But remember—teen, preemie, or tod',
The little children belong to God.
They're in the arms of God.

I just read the story of Caleb on the internet. I have stage four cancer. But I have no fear of death. Caleb did not strike me from the stories I read to have any fear of any thing. I would presume that would include death on Earth. I believe that Heaven is eternal. The hardest part now is the separation we all feel for those we love until it's our turn to join them in their bliss years from now. I truly look forward to meeting your son one day. God has blessed him.Make God bless you in your grief.
