Jon Nash Obituary

Jon Frank Nash passed away in Phoenix on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. He was 73, born in Pickwick Dam, Tennessee on November 16, 1937. Military travel landed Jon in Bellingham, Washington where he met the girl of his dreams. Lorraine took Jon's hand in marriage in Bellingham on September 6, 1958. Jon enjoyed 53-years of companionship with his "Bride". Jon enjoyed the pleasures of family, good friends, good food, and good wine, the warmth of the Arizona sun and the wash of Washington rain, dancing, flying, golf, sailing and travel. Jon provided service to his country as a member of the United States Navy, his family as "Jon (Babe)", "Dad" "Pops" and "Grandpa", his community as Scout Master, Rotarian President, and Gyro Friend, and was active in community history and early development of the Oregon Wine Industry. Jon's personal drive and dedication to the tasks at hand, in addition to his formal education in science and business, provided an abundance of opportunity to travel the world and open doors for diverse careers. Though a tragic accident at 73 ended it, Jon has defined a fulfilling and ambitious life. Jon is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Anderson) Nash of Bellingham WA, his sister, Sally Clicque of Memphis, TN, his children, Jeff Nash (Shirlee) of Bay City, OR, Chris Nash (Lacie) of Newberg, OR, Kim Nash of Richland, WA, and Kerstin Nash of Leavenworth, WA, along with his six grandchildren, Chris, Jon, Brandi, Matt, Cody, and Alyxa, and his one great-grandchild, Taylor. He will be missed. Preceding Jon in death were his parents, John and Ann Clicque of Union City, Tennessee. Contributions can be made to The American Diabetes Association. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 16, at 2 PM, at Moles Greenacres Funeral Home. Dear Mom, Jeff, Chis, Kim, and Kerstin-
The happiest times of my childhood were times we spent together as a family. You graciously opened your home and your hearts to me...welcomed me to be a part of the family, made me feel loved and special. I am so blessed to have all the wonderful memories of laughter, great food, snipe hunting and countless adventures shared with him and all of you!
I loved him so much and I will forever love all of you! Blessed I am to have known him! Love you much..my heart is with you and God willing I will see you soon!

Lorraine and family, How blessed our lives have been with Jon a part of it. Happy Hours won't be the same. Movies, dinners, great conversations around the fire will all have an empty place with out Jon there. We will miss Jon and Boo on their walk down the street and there was always time for a visit.
We had such a small part of his life but you the family have been blessed with your years of memories. Find comfort in those memories and thank you for shareing Jon with us.
Lorraine, we love you and love the Jon we knew. Ginnie and Ray Fletcher (53rd Street Babe and Romeo)

Dear Lorraine and Family,
It just won't be the same without Jon and Boo coming down the street for their walks. I really enjoyed the Thursday morning breakfasts we gathered for when in Yuma. Jon was a very special friend to us. We will really miss his presence.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love, Tom and Cheryl Kramer

It was an honor to know such a kind, sweet and just adorable man, Jon. We will always remember him walking up the street with Boo and dawning the hat he'd wear sometimes.
Lorriane and family ~ we send you our love and deep condolences for your loss. It is us who are blessed to have shared this block with such a wonderful friend.

Dear Lorraine, Jeff, Chris, Kim, and Kerstin, It's never been a secret how much I and my family felt about { Jon} your Dad. Especially my Mom and Dad.
I always looked forward to seeing all of you at the family reunions at Margies. To me, he was a great big man, with a great big heart, and I loved him so so much. It breaks my heart that he is gone, and that there will be another empy chair at the table. I love you all and will see you soon. Prayers to all of you, and when you go to bed tonight,{as my Mom would say} Angels on your pillows. Much love, Joanne {Weston} Abshire
