Ruth Charleson Obituary

Ruth L. (Chase) Charleson passed away peacefully in Bellingham, WA with her family at her side on February 12, 2011. Born November 12, 1926 in Port Arthur, Ontario, she moved west at age 11 to Ocean Falls, B.C. After graduation from St. Paul Hospital Nursing School in Vancouver B.C., she married her love, Donald A. Charleson, on July 16, 1951. They had six children together and were married 59 years. With kids in tow the family moved between Ocean Falls, B.C., Portland OR, Port Alberni B.C. and Boise, Idaho before retiring in Bellingham, WA. Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for her strong faith in the Lord and love of reading, gardening, traveling, and "skunking" everyone at Scrabble. Ruth was a passionate artist who had her hands in multiple art forms. Mum is loved and survived by daughters, Margo (Don) Domes, Kim Charleson, Lia (Carl) Heisel, Nancy (Darren) Whanger; sons, Christopher ( Mary) Charleson, Dan Charleson; and her 9 grandchildren. A family celebration of Ruth's life is being planned for the summer. Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Mission Ministries of Bellingham, WA. Jerns Funeral Chapel & On-site Crematory Bellingham, WA

What a bright sparkling personality Ruth had. Our paths didn't cross enough for me to know her as well as I'd like, but I so enjoyed what I knew.
