Jerry Langer

Jerry R. Langer 1943-2012 LEE Jerry R. Langer, 69, of 80 Sharyn Drive, Lee, formerly of Pittsfield, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Webster, Mass., on Feb. 24, 1943, a son of Jaroslav and Doris Basins Langer, he was educated in Webster schools and was a 1961 graduate of Webster High School. He came to The Berkshires in 1984, and later graduated from Berkshire Community College with an associate's degree in business. Mr. Langer was a Construction Supervisor for Berkshire Gas Company. He retired in 2003 with 23 years service. Jerry had been an active participant in many studies in the hope of finding a cure. He donated his body to Harvard Medial School. Jerry will be missed by all. Mr. Langer leaves his wife, the former Jane M. Zaorski, whom he married April 29, 1979. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Langer of Frisco, Texas; a daughter, Cheryl Cordova and her husband, Vince, of Sugarland, Texas, and their children, Matthew Cordova and Blake Cordova; as well as a brother, Robert Langer and his wife, Elaine, of Sterling, Mass. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Jerry R. Langer who died April 11, 2012 will be held Saturday, May 5, at 2 p.m., at St. Helena's Chapel (New Lenox Road, Lenox). There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Langer may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
