John Mullin Sr.

John A. Mullin Sr. 1933-2011 PITTSFIELD John A. Mullin, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home early Thursday morning, March 24, 2011 with his children attending. John was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. After serving with the Army's occupation forces, he graduated with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College. Immediately thereafter, John went to work for General Electric beginning as a field engineer and ending his career as a contracts administrator when he retired. John was a long time member of Berkshire Hills Country Club and Sacred Heart Parish. An avid golfer and racing handicapper, John was well-known for his smile and storytelling. His family is very proud to remember his grace, good humor and courage in the face of numerous challenges especially after disability took him off the links and out of active circulation. John is survived by his children, their partners and families: John and Tanya Mullin, and their two sons Eddie and Tommy, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; Michael Mullin and Jonathan Plotzker of San Francisco, California, and Maggie Weems and her children Sarah (Cairo, Egypt), Daniel (Breckenridge, Colorado), Hannah (Stockbridge, Massachusetts) and Mason (Fairfax, California), and her grandchildren Hossam and Omar (Cairo, Egypt). FUNERAL SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 191 Elm Street, Pittsfield, with Rev. James K. Joyce officiating. Visiting hours for John will be Sunday March 27th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Devanny-Condron Funeral Home, 40 Maplewood Avenue, Pittsfield. Burial will be private.
