Eileen Leigner Obituary

Eileen M. Tompkins Leigner 1945-2010 TOLLAND Eileen M. Tompkins Leigner, 65, of 770 Colebrook River Rd., died Monday morning November 22, 2010 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Conn. She was the wife of Stanley J. Leigner. Eileen was born November 4, 1945 in North Canaan, Conn., daughter of the late Bud Tompkins and Margaret (Gibbens) Marion and her husband Henry (Poppy) Marion. Eileen was employed by the Howmet Corporation in Winsted, Conn., as a Certified Quality Auditor. She enjoyed horseback riding, but the love of her life was her family and four grandchildren. In addition to her husband, and her four grandchildren Ashley Rush, Randall Rush, Morgyn Gasperini, and Samantha Towle, Eileen is survived by her children: Kelly Marks of Sheffield, Mass.; Jay Gasperini and his wife Kim of North Canaan, Conn.; Bobbie Jo Towle and her husband Jeff of Norfolk, Conn.; Billy J. White and his wife Hattie of Tolland, and her stepson Scott Leigner and his wife Laura. Her brothers and sisters: Sheila Scott of Torrington, Conn., Barbara Tainter of New Mexico, Gordon Tompkins of Texas, Kathy Mitchell of Great Barrington, Eddie Tompkins of Vt., and Shaun Marion of Otis. Eileen was predeceased by her brother Kevin Marion and her sister Maureen Tompkins. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 27, 2010 at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of the Valley Church 99 Maple Avenue Sheffield, MA 01257. Memorial donations may be sent to Saint Judes Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 3810. Arrangements are under the care of the NEWKIRK-PALMER FUNERAL HOME 118 Main St. Canaan, CT 06018.
