Margaret Kuntz Obituary

Margaret Kuntz 1928-2009 PITTSFIELD Mrs. Margaret Kuntz (Donald B.), 81, of 219 High Street, Pittsfield, and former winter resident of Naples, Fla., died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Sweetbrook Care Center in Williamstown. She was born in Palmerton, Pa., on April 24, 1928. Margaret Kuntz, former Margaret Duris, graduated from S. S. Palmer High School and was a dental assistant before her marriage. She was a loving mother and enjoyed being with her favorite (and only) grandson, John. She was a 49 year member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, having served as Treasurer of the Women's Group, and also as Treasurer of the Berkshire Museum Auxiliary. Long active in the community, Mrs. Kuntz served on the Board of Berkshire Place, as Volunteer Chairman of B.M.C.A. Gift Shop (St. Lukes and BMC merged in 1968), Manager of the Junior League Thrift Shop, Twice President-member of Chapter T.-P.E.O. She was also a member of the Junior League of Berkshire County and the League Club of Naples. Fla. She was involved with costumes for the Cargill Follies that performed many times in Pittsfield. She also loved entertaining, swimming, golf and collecting. Margaret worked with her husband Donald in M.A.D. Estate and Household Sales for 21 years. She leaves a daughter, Deborah K. Elder and her husband John and their son John R. Elder, Jr. of Williamstown. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald B. Kuntz, her son, William B. Kuntz, sister Mary Anewalt, and three brothers, Steve, Frank and Joe Duris. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Kuntz will be held, Sunday at 1 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church with the Rev. Hannah Anderson pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 67 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. The WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 is in charge of arrangements.
