i was saddened to hear of dr. Lytle's death..i worked with him at east end hospital in the surgical intensive care unit from 1976 to 1990...and remember his compassion,expertise, and dedication to his profession....he will be greatly missed....judy davis,charleston,sc

I work with your son in Asheville, NC as a physical therapist. I can ony say that you and your husband must be very proud of your son and the type of individual he has become in our community. I lost my Dad many years ago but felt so fortunate to enjoy his presence during my adult years. It gave me the chance to show him what good work he did in concert with my Mom. Thinking of you and your family and prayers will always be there for you.

We remember Richard with respect and affection. I always enjoyed working with him through all the years from East End Memorial through Medical Center East and St. Vincent's East. He was an excellent surgeon and a good person. We are saddened by the news of his passing, and you have our greatest sympathy.

Richard was a gifted physician. The Birmingham Medical Community and Citizens greatly benefited from his skill in the operating room as well as the boardroom. Richard was a natural leader who used his intelligence and warm personality to everyone's benefit.
I also knew him in his favorite place of all at Sandcliffs in Seagrove Beach. He loved the sun, surf and a good book. I remember seeing and visiting he and Martha under the beach umbrella at sunset. This world is a better place because of Richard Lytle, M.D.

RIchard's delightful personality made him one of the most-liked members of the class of '69. His enjoyment of his family, his work and his time with his friends leaves many happy memories for those fortunate enough to have known him. A part of all of us who had the privilege of knowing him was lost with his passing on May 15th.
