William Wittmeyer Obituary

William Wittmeyer, 96, of Franklin, Missouri, passed away June 26, 2014 at Ashley Manor Care Center in Boonville.
Mr. Wittmeyer was born in Liberty, Missouri on February 5, 1918 to the late Robert J. and Lizzie Smith Wittmeyer. He was a lifelong farmer moving from the Liberty to Howard County in 1961. He was a member of the New Franklin First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Philip Wittmeyer of Louisville, Colorado and Roger Wittmeyer and wife, Mary of Franklin; a daughter Sharon Wittmeyer of Franklin; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and six step-great-granchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Pauline and by his second wife, Opal; two sisters, Bernice Wittmeyer and Lucille Moorhouse and by a granddaughter, Karissa Burrell.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with Rev. Ken Stacey officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at White Chapel Cemetery in Gladstone, Missouri. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements entrusted to Markland-Yager Funeral Home, New Franklin, Missouri.
