I read with dismay of Roy's passing. I had the great pleasure of getting to know him and work with him for what now seems like far too few years. He was a passionate and caring physician, and a good man. My deep and sincere sympathy to his wife and family.

I was saddened and surprised to learn of Roy's death on the Internet. I knew Roy as a chemist in graduate school before he decided to go to medical school. In fact, I shared a lab with him for three years.
Roy was personally very kind to me, something for which I have always been grateful. I had never been in New York City before or even on the East Coast. He somewhat guided me around and always had a kind word. I had never met anyone before born and raised in the city. In fact, I never even thought such a thing was possible. I was fortunate to have shared my time in graduate school with Roy.
He was respected by everyone in the Stork group for his ability to organize things. I recall a ski trip to Vernon valley he single-handily organized and, of course, his leadership with Chemical Highlights.

I am saddened to hear this news. I was mentored by and shared patients with Roy in the 1980's and of course we enjoyed many laughs. And a visit to your family home in Wellfleet. We will always remember taking your swing set! May the entire Rubin family hold onto joyous memories, for Roy was a blessing to all who knew him. With heartfelt hugs, Gail Libowsky NP

Roy and I worked together in the early days of HCHP and all
throughout its growing pangs . He was a smart, knowledgeable, caring doctor, an excellent, patient teacher, and wise in the ways of administration. He earned the love and respect of all of us. I am saddened by this loss and send heartfelt sympathies to his entire family. Fondly, Alison Chase

Anita and family,
It was a shock to hear from Noel's note that Roy died. He was such a vital force for me and his other medical colleagues that it is hard to imagine that he is gone.
You may not know that Roy was my partner for about five years in the late 1990s and early millennium. I brought my patients from Cambridge and he backed me up with them for the considerable time I was not in the office. It was so enjoyable to spend time with Roy during our practice together. He was such a knowledgeable doc and a real mensch. I enjoyed it immensely.
In another realm, Roy was an amazing force and participant in the growth and maintenance of our teaching programs over many years. He was deeply involved in the startup of the Teaching Programs, he gave generously of his time, and his participation and advice were invaluable.
Roy was a friend and exemplar for many of us. I will miss him.
My heartfelt sympathy to you and the family. We are all feeling the pain.

Dear 'Deepa', You & I share so many things. Our families, our children, our grandchildren! We never talked about the process, but our role, as Grand Fathers, was to model what was 'right'. This is what as Grand Parents, you, Anita, Meg & John, Sally & I have tried to do. You raised this role to a higher level. Of every thing you shared, your love is the greatest gift. You may be away, but you are never gone. Thank you for the example. Papa Rich
