KANE, Irene Goodwin Of Attleboro, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 30. Widow of James T. Kane, Jr., to whom she was married for over sixty years until his death in 2011. Born in Jamaica Plain, March 10, 1924, daughter of the late William and Irene Goodwin. Irene grew up in Roslindale and was a proud graduate of Girls Latin School. Survived by her eight children: Julia O'Keefe and her husband John of Shirley; Christine Kane and her wife Merry Gerard of Newton; James T. Kane lll of Attleboro, whose care enabled Irene to stay in her home; Stephen V. Kane of Attleboro; Emmet G. Kane of Attleboro; Michael W. Kane and Irene's daughter-in-law Jeanne Lynch Kane of Attleboro; Neal F. Kane and his partner Charles Schoonmaker of Boston; and Eileen Wardwell and her husband Chuck of Westport. She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Thomas Goodwin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, June 1, from 5 -8 pm in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., ATTLEBORO. A funeral will be conducted on Friday, June 2 at 9am from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 71 Linden St., Attleboro. Burial will follow in the St. John's Cemetery, Attleboro, MA.
