Mary Armstrong Obituary

ARMSTRONG, Mary G. (Robinson) 100, of Gloucester, wife of the late Harold L. Armstrong, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Golden Living Center. She was born in Gloucester on September 14, 1909, daughter of Henry and Rebecca (Mac Eachern) Robinson. Mary was predeceased not only by her husband of 49 years, but by her son, Bill Armstrong; her daughter, Constance Armstrong Monahan; three sisters, Margaret Sniffin, Anne Tracy and Rebecca Robinson, and two brothers, Henry and William Robinson. She is survived by her three grandchildren, William Monahan and his wife Wendy, of Rockport and Los Angeles, Susan Monahan Newkirk and her husband William of Norwalk CT and Wilmington VT, and Brooke Armstrong of California. She leaves five great-grand-children, Lauren, William and Sarah Newkirk, and Jack and Iris Monahan. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect St., Gloucester on Tuesday, March 16, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held at a later date. Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester are on Sunday, March 14, from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in her name to a charity of your choice. I will always remember you sitting at the kitchen table with Nana playing either liverpool rummy or scrabble and your soft shoe dance around the kitchen with Nana and A. Beck. Those were the good old days and very fond memories I have. Now your all together again! Love You

Hello Bill, I remember you when I lived on Myrtle Square back in 1946, 1945, you lived up at the end of the street, we were very good friends and I often what became of you, I am now 78 and you would be about the same age. I want to express my sincere sympathy of the death of your MOM, just amazing she lived to be 100, God Bless her and may she rest in Peace.........Ralph Woodbury
