I am seeing this obituary for Don, almost 14 years after his death. He and Jeanne and their family were good and kind friends to me after my divorce and during my new marriage. He was an exceptional human - both kind and concerned for everyone around him. I'm grateful to have know his friendship during difficult and joyous times. RIP

The Rev. Donald A. Fonda, Jr. my family minister for fifteen years stood by and counseled our family through very tough times. He is beloved by all and his ministry in spirit leads our family today. We are so grateful for Don and his family's friendship.
Don is also beloved by many individuals with disabilities in this area of Northampton. He led a task force to welcome this new people to our neighborhoods. This was an ecumenical effort and Don was a leader in this respect. The individuals he welcomed at First Baptist Church, Northampton continue to find belonging and hospitality with the First Churches and other local churches.
Don's Christlike manner is one that shows compassion for all people. He led a jail ministry of Decision Making/ Life Problem Skills for the many years he served in Northampton. This ministry is empowering and inmates benefit by deciding life-style changes.
The Reverend Donald A. Fonda will long be remembered becoming part of the lives he has touched.

We met Don for the first time while he was attending Jeanne's 50th H.S. reunion in Las Vegas. He had been asked to give the invocation and did a wonderful job. Don was a person you felt you had known for your entire life, full of joy and inspiration. I think everyone will miss his smiling eyes and kind words. He was a gift sent from God to his wife, family and all who's live's he had touched. It was a pleasure and an honor to have known him and his family.

My deepest Sympathy. I enjoyed both of you in my "John Adams" class at NECC and on the trip to Braintree-Quincy.
