AMY WINDER Obituary

WINDER, Amy Sharp wit, foodie, loyal friend, and beloved daughter, died in Somerville, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, April 12. Amy was born on January 28, 1969, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was predeceased by her father, John Thomas Winder. She is survived by her mother, Jennifer Leonard of Boise, Idaho, and many relatives in England and Salt Lake City. Amy grew up in Salt Lake City and Idaho, and graduated in 1987 from Wood River High School as valedictorian of her class. She attended Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and graduated in 1991 with a degree in American Studies. Amy worked as a Senior Program Manager at Brightcove, a provider of cloud services for video, in Boston, Massachusetts. From 2012 to 2015, she worked at Harvard University Information Technology. For nearly 18 years prior to that, Amy worked at IBM.

Amy was an active Chowhound, meeting up with her fellow foodies to sample the diverse cuisine and cultures of the Boston area. Amy loved her back porch, a good glass of wine, 80s music, cheese, traveling with her friends, a lively political debate, and dancing; she was an amazing dancer. She did not like exercise, early mornings, or desserts. She was whip-smart and could be counted on to know something about anything. She was full of life, love, and fun. Amy and her beloved mom thrived on the adventures they had as the traveled the world together, and were looking forward to many more larks.
