Paul Morrison Obituary

MORRISON, Paul E. Made his transition on January 2, 2011 at his home in Boston. Known affectionately by nieces and nephews as "Uncle Paul", by old friends as "Peck" and by his brothers and sisters as "the baby". He was known for his infectious grin, exuberant spirit and occasionally irreverent wit. Paul Morrison was born to Everett Lloyd and Maude Morrison on June 22, 1933. He was raised in Boston and attended public schools there. His siblings include Lloyd G. Morrison of Clarksville, TN, Cynthia Robinson of Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by brothers Clement, William and Wendell as well as sister Doris. As the youngest child he was noted for being curious about what everyone around him was involved with. As he grew into adulthood Paul's love for music became his career. Over the years he was associated with numerous jazz performers. In that capacity he traveled extensively around the nation and the world, always returning to his beloved home in Boston. Paul evolved into a businessman and eventually worked as a sales consultant to Pro-Tech Security. In that role he oversaw a key part of the security for the "Big Dig" which transformed the face of downtown Boston. He is survived by his son Paul-David Morrison of Leander, Texas, Granddaughters Brianna and Adrianna, Niece Mildred Morrison of Pittsburgh, PA and Nephew Greg Morrison of Atlanta, GA. As well as grand nieces, nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to The American Diabetes Association. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday January 6, 2011 at Boston Harborside Home of JS Waterman & Sons-Waring-Langone, 580 Commercial Street, BOSTON, MA 02109. May you finally rest in peace from your earthly troubles and concerns. Know that, although I only saw you annually at Joe and Lisa's Christmas gatherings, that I very much valued and looked forward to our conversations.
