BRUCE H. URQUHART

1939 - 2016

URQUHART, Bruce H. 77, of Franklin, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 with loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband for 55 years of Bernardine M. (McCabe) Urquhart. Born in Boston, MA on February 1, 1939, he is the son of the late Henry and Marie A. (Muller) Urquhart. He is the loving father of Heather U. Ledbetter and her husband, John of Norfolk, MA, and Jennifer M. Gosselin and her husband, Leonard of Uxbridge, MA. He leaves his brothers, Wayne Urquhart and his wife, Holly of Ashland, MA and Donald Urquhart and his wife, Cathy of Easton, MA. A resident of Franklin formerly of Mashpee, Bellingham and Needham where he attended Needham High School. He enlisted the United States Navy in submarine service serving on the USS Sunbird and the Naval Reserve. He was employed by New England Telephone as a data line installer and repairman retiring in 1998. Retiring to Mashpee, he enjoyed boating, fishing, was an avid reader of non-fiction and was a Civil War History buff. He also was an animal lover. Mr. & Mrs. Urquhart enjoyed traveling especially cruises after retirement. In retirement he took on the job of Santa Claus at the Cape Cod Mall. A loving and devoted husband and father, he will be greatly missed. Funeral will be held on Monday, October 17th at 9:00AM from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St.(Rte 126), BELLINGHAM, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin, MA. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 12:45PM. Visiting hours are on Sunday, October 16th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the funeral home.
