JAKAB, Irene Of Brookline, MA, June 18, 2011. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Jakab, MD, PhD, on Saturday, June 18, 2011. Dr. Jakab, 91 years at the time of her death, was a psychiatrist, scholar, and humanist - Professor of Psychiatry Emerita, University of Pittsburgh; Lecturer on Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School; Attending Psychiatrist, McLean Hospital; President of the American Society of Psycho pathology of Expression and a member of many professional societies in the fields of psychiatry, psychology, and arts therapy - but most importantly, a wonderful friend to all who knew her. Her knowledge, her courage, her unfaltering commitment to the disabled and the sick, her legendary wit and deep sense of humor will live on in the memory of her patients, students, colleagues, friends and relatives - in all of us who had the privilege to know her. Visitation on Friday, July 1 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am in The Robert J.
