As a lost and troubled kid starting 9th grade at Holyoke High in a strange and new city, "Billy" a junior and big man on campus took me under his wing while working together at the A&P. His kindness, typical of the people of Holyoke, will always be a special memory for me. Reading the Condolences to his family, I'm just one of many whose lives were touched by this special man.

I am sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I worked as Planning Director during his tenure as City Managerin the '70s. He was a very smart man. One of my fondest memories was those Friday afternoon when we would sit in those big old leather chairs in his office and discuss our present and future thoughts about Lowell's problems and opportunities. We didn't always agree but honored each other's opinion. Best wishes to his family at your loss. He will always bring a smile to me for just having known him.

My condolences to the Taupier Family, I have many fond memories of Bill. I was appointed to the Holyoke police department By Bill Taupier, and enjoyed following his career. He was greatly missed by most of Holyoke, when he decided to start a new career in Lowell. Gone but not Forgotten

Pat and family,
I send condolences and sympathies to all of you on Bill's passing. He was a great guy, fun to talk to and under that gruff exterior, a softie who only wanted the best for people and his city. I hope fond memories and the support of family and friends help you overcome your sadness.

Dear Mrs. Taupier,
So sorry for your loss. Growing up in Holyoke, right next door to THE MAYOR, was a big deal! It was like being around a movie star. He was so gregarious and funny and smart; and knew everybody in Holyoke. I have many fond memories of Mr. Taupier and your whole family. May he rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Colette Haag-Rickert

Dear Pat and family,
Our deepest sympathy, prayers and fond memories are extended to you.
Many years and miles apart have caused us to not keep tabs on some of our dearest Holyoke pals.
We cherish all the fun times we had with Bill and you-ringing all those doorbells, and singing "LET A LEADER LEAD THE WAY" launching his political career. Holyoke and Lowell benefitted from his leadership

Bill was always bigger than life beginning from the time we played football together in the empty lot across from Sacred Heart School up to and beyond playing together at HHS. Bill loved Holyoke and Holyoke loved him.
