JOSEPH RAFFERTY Obituary
Mr. Rafferty was born on July 19, 1938 in New York City, NY, the son of the late Patrick Rafferty and Theresa McGrath Rafferty. He was a graduate of Manhattan College and following his formal education served in the United States Army as a Reservist. He began his career as a Listings Director with the New York Stock Exchange and later worked with the Boston Stock Exchange, retiring as a Corporate Secretary. He enjoyed woodworking and furniture making and loved being a jokester.
Mr. Rafferty is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Arlene M. Rafferty; sons, LTC Brian W. Rafferty, U.S. Army (Ret.) (Mary Therese) and Michael A. Rafferty (Michelangelo Apodaca); daughter, Laura E. Rafferty (David Blake); grandchildren, 2LT Matthew Rafferty, U.S. Army, serving in Iraq (Elizabeth), PFC Sean Rafferty, U.S. Army, Kiera Blake, and Erin Blake.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, P.O. Box 3827, Bluffton, SC 29910 or Bluffton Self Help, Donations Department, P.O. Box 2420, Bluffton, SC 29910.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
