BABIN, George E. 82, of Lincoln, NH, formerly of Somerville and Scituate, died June 17th, 2009, at home. Husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Havican) Babin. Father of G. Michael Babin, Reno, Nev, Peter B. Babin and his wife, Mary E. Babin, Littleton, Colo., Kim E. Stevens and her husband Buddy Stevens, East Bridgewater, M. Stacie Babin, Boston, Kara L. Sellingham and her husband Mark A. Sellingham, Woodstock, NH, Steven P. Babin, Thornton, NH. Grandfather of 10, great grandfather to 1. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Born and grew up in Somerville. 1944 graduate of Boston College High School. Joined the US Navy at age 17. Served as a Corsair fighter pilot in WW II. Member American Legion, Lincoln, NH and former member Knights of Columbus, Scituate. Devoted communicant of St. Joseph Church, Lincoln, NH. A mechanical contractor formerly employed Barber-Coleman, R.E. Bettencourt and Loon Mt. Avid skier, enjoyed sailing and traveling. Visiting hours 7-9 PM Friday, June 26th Edmund K. Fournier Funeral Home, 144 Main St., NORTH WOODSTOCK NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Saturday, June 27th St Joseph Church, Church Street, Lincoln, NH, with Celebrant The Rev. John MacKenzie. Burial with full military honors will follow Riverside Cemetery; Lincoln, NH.
