John Amato Obituary

AMATO, John Martin 88, of Acton, ME, & previously of Winchester, MA, passed peacefully surrounded by his beloved family, on September 5, 2009. He continued to inspire all who knew him with his strength, independent spirit, kindness and appreciation for each day he was given. John was a graduate of Medford High School and Chauncey Hall. Mr. Amato furthered his education and obtained a Mechanical Engineering degree from Tufts University during WWII. Following his graduation, he attended Columbia University Midshipmen's School and Harvard Communication School. They married and became the loving & devoted parents of Valerie Anne Amato & David John Amato. The family settled in Winchester, MA. John and Esther retiredto Acton, ME. He was predeceased by his loving wife Esther in 1989. Survived by his children, Valerie Amato Doyle of Acton, ME & David Amato of Wolfeboro, NH & survived by his beloved six grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. A private service at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford, ME September 10, 2009. The Autumn Green Funeral Home, ALFRED, ME is respectfully handling arrangements.

To the Amato family:
Our thoughts are with you following the death of Mr. Amato. We remember him fondly from 1984, when we purchased the house on North Border Road in Winchester. Our best wishes to all of the Amato family, and our greatest sympathy for your loss.
