Monette Maria Stewart

STEWART, Monette Maria (Carr) Age 48. A resident of Moreno Valley, CA, passed away on February the 10th, 2009. Mrs. Stewart died at home, after a long battle with ovarian cancer and related complications. Born on June 10th, 1961 in Boston, MA to the late Floyd Carr and Domenica Bellamy. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Preston J. Stewart and their children Domenica G. Stewart (15) and Mark D. Stewart (8). She also leaves her brothers David M. and Leonard A. Carr, Joseph J., Aaron T., and Luke A. Bellamy. A long time resident of Needham, MA, she graduated Needham High School, Class of 1979. She earned her BA from Hampshire College in 1983, with post-graduate training in Special Education. Mrs. Stewart taught K/1 Bi-Lingual Education for 20 years at the West Riverside Elementary School, in Riverside CA and was awarded Teacher of the Year, 2003. A lifetime lover of the arts, she was instrumental in a creative beautification program for her school district, as well as implementing an art-appreciative approach in her classroom. She was prone to raucous laughter and spontaneous dance. She is loved, and she will be missed. Visitation will take place in the George F.
