Patrick Barron Obituary

BARRON, Colonel (Retired) Patrick V. (Pat) Resident of Falmouth, MA, formerly of Mashpee, MA, and Alexandria, VA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 15, 2009, in his home at Heritage of Falmouth. Pat was predeceased by his first wife, Alma Landry Barron, and his wife of 53 years (who passed on November 23, 2008), Alma Chalmers Barron. Pat is survived by his four children, Patricia Barron Lynch Smith of Tewksbury, MA; John P. Barron and wife Pamela O. Barron, of Fairfax Station, VA; D. Michael Barron and partner Jose M. Lopez, of Los Angeles, CA; and Elizabeth A. Barron of Waterville, ME; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Catherine Walsh of Quincy, MA; his brothers Martin of Wilmington, NC; Aloysious, of Englewood, FL; Joseph of Carmel, CA and Leo, of Middleboro, MA; brother-in-law J. William Clark, Sr, of Mashpee, MA; sister-in-law Carol Chiacchia, of Litchfield, NH and numerous dearly loved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Sister Gertrude, SND, and his brothers Michael, William and Thomas. Visiting Hours will be held Monday, June 22, from 3-7pm in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. at Route 151, MASHPEE, MA. A Funeral will form on Tuesday, June 23, at 10am in the Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am in Christ the King Parish, 3 Job's Fishing Rd., Mashpee. Interment will be held at 12:30pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Men's Club of New Seabury Educational Fund, P O Box 1093; Mashpee, MA 02649. Pat will be missed much, but he must now be enjoying a reunion with both of his Alma's. He was a good friend, a highly capable engineer, a dedicated father, and a proud patriot.
