Paul Bolduc Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 1 to Jan. 2, 2010.
BOLDUC, Rev. Paul J. Dec. 29, formerly of Milton and Malden beloved brother of Lois M. Rooney and her husband Donald of Hampton, NH, Arthur J. Bolduc and his wife Nancy of Acton, ME. Uncle of Paul Rooney of Natick, Peter Rooney of Rowley, Patrick Rooney of Salisbury, Debra Gallagher of Methuen, Joseph Bolduc of Stoneham, and David Bolduc of Limerick, Maine. Fr. Bolduc was ordained in 1960 and served in St. Patrick Parish, Roxbury for 5 yrs, Immaculate Conception in Malden, for twelve years, St. Elizabeths Church in Milton for 10 years and served as Chaplain at Milton Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Childrens Hospital, Dana Farber Hospital, Joslin Diabetes Clinic and Brigham and Woman's Hospital, while he resided in St. Thomas Parish in Jamaica Plain and later in St. Anne in Readville. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave, Milton. Funeral Mass in St. Elizabeth's Church, Milton on Monday at 11:00 o'clock. Interment Mt. Calvaire Cemetery, Somersworth, NH. Father Paul Bolduc served God since he was ordained in 1960. Fr. Bolduc's family has taken on the responsibility of informing the public of his innocence in the matter of one accusation against him in 2001. After two years of investigation by the Archdiocese Review Board he was declared innocent of all charges and was returned to his public ministry without restriction. The Decree was dated July 22, 2003 and was signed by the Most Reverend Richard G. Lennon, D.D. Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Boston. The one allegation that was made against him could not be substantiated. At the time, Father Bolduc was prevented from proclaiming his innocence to the public or his peers. Father Bolduc's reputation was shattered and his life was changed forever. He forged on, always mindful of his mission in life. Due to this ordeal his health suffered greatly and continued to decline as time went on. Father Bolduc's family wishes to thank all his friends for standing by him and for all the support they gave him in his time of need. He was a dedicated holy man who had a true calling to the priesthood and who gave of himself completely and unconditionally. His family would also like to thank the nurses and staff at Regina Cleary residence, Boston for the excellent care they gave him. Chapman, Cole & Gleason Milton 617 696 6612

Fr Paul will be missed by all. He was a freind of my father-in-law. He married me and my wife, after I declined his offer to give me the keys to his car to get away!! He Baptized all 3 of my kids, was there for their 1st communions, and most of all was there on the alter when my dad passed away. I was so honored when my son was asking about him when his daughter was born and wanted Fr Paul to baptize her. Rest in peace Fr Paul.

With my deepest sympathy extended to the family. Father Paul Bolduc has been in my thoughts for a number of years, knowing him well. He had a beautiful eulogy for my father (Leo Turcotte) his cousin. My knowledge of his passing away was in the St. Martin's 1/9/2010 bulletin, this pass Sunday.

To the family of Father Bolduc,
A couple of months ago, I was asked if I wanted to Spiritually adopt a priest, so I said yes. Before I reached in the bag to take the envelope, I prayed to the Holy Spirit to give me the priest the Lord wants me to pray for. It was Father Paul J. Bolduc. I immediately and happily began praying for him and offering Masses, Divine Mercy Chaplets and so forth. I began to love and care for this priest that I had never met but hoping to. Now after reading all of the wonderful comments about him, I can see he was and is a wonderful man. May Father Bolduc be wrapped in Our Savior's loving and merciful arms. Peace be with you!

To the family of Father Bolduc,
I met Father Bolduc many years ago, when I was a lecturer at St. Elizabeth's Church. I will remember him as an honorable and holy man. I would like to express my deepest sympathy to his family.

We have great memories of Father Bolduc at the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden. He married my husband and I and baptized at least our first two children. We read his obituary in the newspaper and are saddened that he had to live with the accusations that were made against him. My family had to live with the same and we know how difficult life can be while doing so. We know he is now in the hands of a loving God who knows the truth. May he now rest in peace. God bless.

Father Paul not only baptized me, and my brothers he also baptized my daughter. My dad grew up with Father Paul, and though age and health seperated them my dad always cared about him and his family. My dad will be very sad tomorrow when I tell him of his passing..

If this is the same Father Paul Bolduc,he married my wife and I at St Mary's in Pinehurst Ma. He was a an inspiration to us and we are sorry for your loss. We kept track of him after he married us, but lost touch when he went to Malden. May God embrace him lovingly into Eternal Paradise.

About 30 years ago, Fr Bolduc said something to me in confession that was helpful and has stuck with me; I have quoted him to my children on this matter. I will always remember him for that.

To the family of Rev Bolduc
I knew Rev.Bolduc through the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden.
He served my daughters in first Holy Communion back in the 1970's. He was a person you could talk to , feel comfortable with and confide in. We all missed him after he left our church and moved on elsewhere. My family and I would like to express our deepest sympathy to his family. I know he has a very special place in heaven, with God.

I will always remember Father Bolduc. He was the priest who served me at my First Holy Communion at the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden, MA over 30 years ago. I always thought he was a caring man. He will be missed.
