83, of Peach Tree Court, died July 16, 2003 at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation in Lawrence, MA. He was born December 14, 1919 in Boston, MA. The son of the late Peter and Margaret (Thatcher) Candora. Joseph grew up in the Boston area and served in the US Army during WW II. He was a long-time resident of Tewksbury, MA and had resided the last 4 years in Raymond, NH. For many years he was employed as a merchandiser for Shenley Distributing. He was formerly an active Communicant and member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Williams Church in Tewksbury, MA. Mr. Candora enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and many outdoor activities including camping and hiking. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Naomi (Owen) Candora who died on July 30, 2002. He is survived by his son, Joseph P. Candora of Raymond, NH; 2 daughters, Kathleen Geyer of Tewksbury, MA, and Patricia A. Demers of Sandown, NH; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Dominic Candora of Cape Cod, MA, George Candora of Hull, MA, and Peter Candora of Weymouth, MA; 1 sister, Mary Mulvey of West Roxbury, MA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 19, from 9-11 AM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, On the Common, 2 Epping St., Raymond, NH. Funeral Services will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Michael Taylor will officiate the service. Burial with military honors will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Raymond, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, 5841 Cedar Lake Rd., Suite 204, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55416.
