Dear Pilavin Family,
I was so saddened to read about "Mrs.Pilavin's" passing. I have memories of riding the bus home for lunch from Spaulding School with Tobi. I loved coming to your house because your mom always made the best tuna sandwiches on little sweet bread rolls! I haven't seen any of you in the longest time, but I remember you well. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Beverly ws a wonderful colleague for many years at the Ward School. She adored her family and doted on her grandchildren. Her wit and consistent good humor in and out of the classroom will be missed...she was a truly lovely person and I am sad for all of you.

Dear Harold, Debbie, Tobi and Steven,

Dear Pilavin family:
It has been many years since I have seen all of you. I was a classmate of Tobi's at NSHS. We shared many high school memories together and I visited with the Pilavin family many times. As an employee at Newton Public Schools, I heard many co-workers talking about Beverly passing along with their wonderful comments of her dedication as a teacher here. Listening to all of the stories on how she touched people's hearts and minds brought back a flood of memories and I wanted to stop for a moment to express my sympathies and remember how welcome Mr. and Mrs. Pilavin always made our group of friends feel.
With sympathy, Cindy Vasil Brown

My deepest condolences on your loss.
I remember having Beverly (Mrs. Pilavin as I knew her) as my substitute teacher many times when I was a student at Bowen. Then my son had her from time to time at Memorial Spaulding where he is entering second grade. She leaves a wonderful legacy that touched multiple generations.

I want to send my most sincere sympathy at this time. Beverly and I date back many, many years in the Newton Public Schools. Before the days of ISS, Beverly was always my number one choice if I needed a substitute. Her warmth, intelligence, and smile will always remain in my fondest of memories. My thoughts are with you.
