"Ram", 64, Nashua, NH died suddenly on March 15, 2013. Born April 12, 1948 in Chennai, India Ram is survived by his mother, two brothers and other family members. Ram graduated from IIT Kanpur with a Bachelors' degree in EE followed by a PhD in EECS from Univ of Washington Seattle. Ram had a long and productive career at the Mathematical Sciences Research Center at Bell Labs for over 25 years. His accomplishments include groundbreaking work on Performance Analysis, Combinatorial Optimization, and Packet network analysis/design. Ram joined Winphoria in 2000 and was instrumental in the rigorous traffic, reliability/ fault tolerance analysis of the Softswitch including designing sophisticated Admission Control algorithms. Ram joined Veveo in 2005 and was responsible for much of the formal mathematical underpinnings of Veveo's technology including the Social Network analysis, signature and personalization algorithms. Ram authored 41 US patents and several academic publications. Ram was a wonderful humanitarian, whose profound intellectual influence and endearing empathy will be missed but never forgotten. The memorial service will be held between 11am and 1pm on Thursday, March 28, at Linwood Cemetery and Crematorium, 41 John Ward Ave., Haverhill MA 01830.
