Memorial Day 2021. I visited Senses Jacks resting place. I noticed no flag place at his marker. I had brought many flags to replace some tattered and torn. I along with a fellow veteran placed new flags at Jack's marker. I also visited my father's resting place in Canton and did the same. RIP.

Jack Summers was a treasure of a man, a great practitioner and instructor of Uechi-Ryu Karate, and a leader in every sense of the word. I am very sorry for your loss and so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet and train with him.
In his presence I wanted to train more and better to honor the high quality instruction I received from him and his passion for our art.
There is a saying that those we love are with us as long as they are remembered.
Jack was as generous with his time and teaching as he was with his smile and I will not forget him.

Claire, Lynn, Steve, and John,
What I am feeling right now is hard to put into words. Jack would be laughing right now knowing that I am usually never at a loss to say something!
You all know how special Jack was to me as well as to hundreds of martial artists around the world. He was truly a positive influence and made such a difference to all who met and trained with him. I know I can speak for many of his lifelong students and say that Jack was more than just our teacher; he was a friend, a mentor, a father, a teacher of teachers, to all of us. There was never a doubt that Jack always put us first. Many of us have been lucky to travel around the world with him and will always hold beautiful memories of these past times. The world is recognizing him and the influence he made to his beloved Uechiryu Karatedo. We all will miss him but none of us will ever forget him. His legacy will truly live on.

Sensei Jack was an incredible and unassuming man, truly a member of the Greatest Generation, not only because of when he was born but moreso because of the way that he lived and touched the life of others. Personally, he impacted my life by being one of those who helped me to face and fight my ongoing battle with cancer. My sympathies go out to Claire, Jack's family and all of his friends and students. Sensei Jack will be sorely missed.

Sensei Jack was an incredible and unassuming man, clearly a member of the Greatest Generation not just because of the timing of his life but more so because of the way he lived it. He had a great impact on those who knew him, especially his Uechi Ryu students. I know personally how he impacted my life and helped me to stay strong and fight an ongoing battle with cancer. He will be dearly missed. My sympathies go out to Claire, Jack's family, and all of his friends.
