He was an excellent professor at Brandeis. His lectures were never merely about chemical reactions, but how the products of those reactions effected world history and how many of these chemical discoveries improved our lives.

He was an excellent professor at Brandeis. Always making chemistry relevant for people who were not chemistry majors.
And his in nonacademic endeavors he worked to improve college level education for students who did not have the wealth or credentials to go to the most highly regarded schools.

Paul was a wonderful colleague, always available for advice, counsel and ideas. He was friendly, generous and welcoming to new faculty and helped more than one of us in adjusting to university life. It's been over thirty years since he left Brandeis, and I still have fond memories of our collaborations.
