Landy, Herbert H. Died peacefully at the age of 91, on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his home in Westwood Mass where he was surrounded by the love of his family. Beloved husband of Leah Landy and the late Miriam Landy. Dear son of the late Abraham and Pauline Landy. Devoted father of Betsy Magnuson, Meryl Landy, Roberta Feldman, Susan Abrams and Stephen Raskin. Cherished grandfather of Michaele and JoAnna Magnuson. Loving brother of Edward Landy of Andover Mass and the late Robert Landy of Columbus Ohio. Father-in-law of Ken Magnuson, Jeffrey Feldman, Maggie Raskin and the late Phil Abrams. Herb was a longtime Needham resident where he raised his family and served as a Town Meeting Member. He was also an active member and contributor to Temple Beth Shalom in Needham, Mass. He later moved and retired at Foxhill Retirement Community in Westwood, Mass. He was the founder and Chairman of The Board of The Herbert H. Landy Insurance Agency started by him in 1949. Herb was a World War II veteran and survivor of the 450th Bombardment Group of the 15th Army Air Force. Services will be held at the Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington St, CANTON, MA on Wednesday April 1, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. Interment Sharon Memorial Park. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Betsy and Ken until Friday 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St # 501, Boston, Mass 02210 or the Good Shepherd Community Hospice at 90 Wells Avenue, Newton, Mass.
