Not sure what to say?

I have tried this at a few other sites and not sure what happened. I had the honor of working for Mr. Leggat when I moved to Boston from NYC in 1976. I can say, without a doubt, he was the kindest nicest boss I ever had. I know how much he adored his family. That was evident always. I never knew he had a law degree from Harvard! He was so humble and down to earth and that is what made him so very special. I was blessed to have known him for the short time I did and that is what prompted me to look him up earlier. The story everyone mentioned about him not wearing a coat in those freezing Boston winters made me laugh because I couldn't believe it! RIP Mr. Leggat, you had more class, kindness and decorum than almost anyone I have ever known.

Tom Leggat was a classy guy. I knew him from his business world. Tom sold me the land owned by Dick Shannon in Woburn and also the Massachusetts Mills in Lowell! Tom was a delightful man and a person of great integrity. My great pleasure was to meet and be friends with both Tom and his brother Dick.
We had a lot of laughs and I told Tom that we were "two for two" in real estate deals.
Both he and his brother Dick were such wonderful men. Very successful and the nicest of people. All the best to Dick and both families. Joe Mullins

Dear Barbara, I was a bridesmaid in your beautiful wedding so many years ago. I still have the silver bracelet you gave to us as a memory of that day. We have known each other for so long....from Towanda to now. Tom certainly was a blessing. Love to you, your family and George., Cheri Fitzgerald Burchard

Tom was a wonderful Father-in-law. I am truly blessed to be part of this family. He taught me a lot without really teaching. He lived life to the fullest and was a blessing to humankind from God. I love you, honor you, Thank you, and will forever remember you. Forever Tom, Forever

To Barbara,

I was sorry to hear of the passing of Tom and remember him
fondly from the days when we were all young and single and having a good time in Boston. As we all know, he was friendly and easy going and fun to be with especially on those cold winter days on the ski slopes of New Hampshire or the evenings on Marlboro Street in apartments of friends.

Always a sincere smile and a warm greeting of friendship from Tom and that was a most wonderful trait. Very admired by so many people, he will be deeply missed.

I send my condolences to you and your family in this sad time
of loss and grief.

As one who has known Tom as a cousin, friend and mentor I want to add my thanks for the blessing it has been to be inspired by the high standard he set in the way he lived his life.
As a member of the real estate fraternity, wherever I would travel Tom's solid reputation as a man of integrity was recognized and acknowledged. Many doors opened because of the way he had blazed a trail for the family name.
More importantly, though, was the joy he would bring to family parties, visits and celebrations. He was forever young in his penchant for having fun and bringing others along for the ride.
Last, but not least, April 24th, was a birthdate shared with my Mom. The two of them always made a point to be in touch to celebrate the annual rites of Spring. Ironically, that is a date now carried on by our grandson Landon, born April 24th, 2011. My earnest prayer is that he will live well into the legacy that has been put in place by one so good at "really living." The Good Lord bless you and keep you dear cousin!!

Sending love to the Leggat family. Tom always had such a classic presence and a good nature. To find out he was known for never wearing a coat on the streets of Boston made me smile...knowing Peggy's nature as dearly as I do this totally made sense. Love, Nora

As a co-worker of Mr. Leggat's eldest child, Anne, I can attest that the apple does not fall far from the tree because I see the gregarious nature and ability to sum up the situ in a witty quip in her. Wish I'd had the privilege to meet him, but I already feel like I knew him by reading this obit and by working with Anne for 16 years! My best to the whole family and many, many friends of Mr. Leggat! -Ginny Greene

Thinking of Tommy in his vintage ski garb, gracefully gliding down some heavenly vale, kicking up powder and smiling down on all the love shining back up at him. Hugs, Elizabeth
