Sally,
I just learned of Bob's passing and can't tell you how saddened I am to hear the news. No one other than my own father and grandfather, has taught me more, or had more of an impact on my life. There literally isn't a single week that goes by in which I don't bring up lessons that Bob instilled upon me when I'm trying to influence events at my own office. I look back fondly now on the many challenges Bob presented to me and realize that those lessons made me wiser, faster, and better. 20 years later, he still is impacting others through me.
When you, Bob, Chris, and I had lunch in Boston a few summers ago, it was my way to thank him personally for his great influence. That was so important to me, and I'm grateful for that short personal time the four of us had. Over the years he would never allow me to by him lunch, but I finally figured out that if you would join us, he would not dare push back in your presence. I smile today knowing that you were the only person he ever would back down from.
I know Bob loved you and the kids very much. I will miss him but will cherish the memories. God bless you and your family.

Jeff, I just read about your Dad passing. I'm so very sorry to hear that. Never has there been a more inappropriately named man than "Mr. Meaney" (as I knew him). Some of my best childhood memories are of sledding down your hill on Alexander Circle. Your Dad was always out there taking care of the course, shaping turns for us and making sure we had a good time. I think of him often when I'm doing the same sort of thing for my kids.
What a wonderful role model he was.

This is sad news and I am very sorry for your loss. I practically grew up in the skating rink and I have many fond memories; some of the best spent with Bob. I will never forget all the times he took me to that diner on Rt. 1 as a kid. He was great guy with an awesome sense of humor. He touched many lives and will be sincerely missed.

Many, many years ago I had the good fortune to work with Bob at the old National Shawmut Bank. He was the type of person that makes a lasting impression on you and you are compelled to walk away thinking about what a genuine, sincere chap he was to interact with over the years. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit which was especially welcomed during stressful moments. He was well respected by all for his industry knowledge and management abilities. As the years passed, I lost touch with him, however he frequently came to mind on numerous occasions as I would reflect back of prior experiances. I was unaware that he had not been well in recent years and that must have been an ordeal. I know he will be missed by his family and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear the sad news. Many years have passed, but we remember Bob, Sally, and Sarah as one of the many quality families we had the pleasure of knowing when we were part of the NSSC family. Bob was always ready to greet you with a handshake and a wide smile, a guinely great guy who made everyone in his presence feel his radiance. He will surely be missed by many.

There were lots of parents I met at the skating rink over the years, but some made more of an impact than others. Bob was one of them.
A number of years have passed since then, but I can still picture his smile. Bob was a great guy, and although nothing can be said to ease your loss, you're in my thoughts and prayers.
