Robert Barr Obituary
Dr. Barr was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the son of the late Dr. Edward Wallace Barr, Sr. and Bess Moseley Barr. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and the University of Louisville Dental School. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather he was a dentist during his tour of duty as a Captain with the U.S. Air Force and then in private practice for thirty eight years in Bowling Green.
He was a member of The First Church of Christ Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts and Sons of the American Revolution, as well as the Barons, Rotary Club, and the National Ski Patrol. He served as president of the American Orthodontist Union and as a docent at the Kentucky Museum.
He will be remembered for his love of bird and wolf watching, bonsai gardening, snow skiing, hiking, and stamp, coin and arrowhead collecting.
He is survived by his children, Hope B. Smith (Steve) of Red Lodge, Montana; Catherine B. Mathias (Bobby) of Camden, South Carolina; Robert T. Barr of Versailles, Kentucky; Betsy Vandever (Brett) of Absarokee, Montana and grandchildren Lindsay Smith of Miami Beach, Florida; Lauren Smith of Morgan Hill, California; Christin McKinney of Boulder, Colorado; Robert McKinney, Illinois of Camden, South Carolina; Ryan Barr, Ava and Abigail Vandever of Absarokee, Montana. He was predeceased by his brother, E. Wallace, "Sonny" Barr, Jr.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Barr's passing. I worked for him for 16 years, until he retired in 1992. He was a great boss, as well as being a good friend to all of us there. My deepest sympathy to his family.
