Heinz Philipp Obituary

Heinz Philipp, 78, Bradenton, FL, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.  At his request his cremation rites have been accorded and he will find his final resting place in Rio Rancho, NM. He was born on February 18, 1932 in Essen, Germany, one of eight children born to August and Emilie Ehlert Philipp.  He moved to Canada in the early 1950's and then to the US 2 years later.  He married Eveline Knauss and together they had 2 sons.  After becoming a US citizen he served in the US Army in the 1950's.  Heinz had worked as a machinist in the Milwaukee area.  After retirement he moved to the Bradenton/Sarasota area.  His goal in retirement was to see as much of the world as he could.  He enjoyed traveling and taking cruises, dancing and playing cards. Survivors include his sons; Gary Philipp of Canyon Country, CA and Glenn Philipp of Milwaukee, WI, his sister Frieda Hahn of Rio Rancho and a special friend Eileen Gant of East Moline. He is preceded in death by his brothers (three of whom died in WWII) and sisters and his parents. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com
