Jane Hultz

PORT ALLEGANY - Jane A. Hultz, 88, formerly of Harrison Street, passed away Thursday (Jan. 5, 2017) in Lakeview Senior Care and Living Center, Smethport.
Born June 11, 1928, in Austin, she was a daughter of Lester and Donna VanWhy Jeffers. On May 29, 1948, in Austin, she married Wallace Hultz, who died June 6, 1970.
Mrs. Hultz was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Austin High School, Class of 1946.
Jane was a nurse's aide for Sena-Kean Manor in Smethport for 22 years, retiring in 1996.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Port Allegany, and the Methodist Women, and was also a former Sunday school teacher. Jane also volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are a daughter, Joan E. (Earl) Saunders of Port Allegany; a granddaughter, Amanda (Heath) Rudolph of Port Allegany, two grandsons, Ryan (Kristen) Hultz of Cayuga, N.Y., and Kyle (Amber) Hultz of Union Springs, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren, Anna, Shelby, Aiden, Parker, Paige, Noah and Emma; a brother, Lester "Tom" (Karen) Jeffers of Elkland; a sister, Joan M. Snyder of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace; a son, Dale R. Hultz; two brothers, James and Dean Jeffers; and two sisters, Lorraine "Peg" Jeffers, and Joyce Kent.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ernest Perry, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Eldred, officiating. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
